Welcome to the New York State Board of Law Examiners Applicant Services Portal

  • The Applicant Services Portal is the only place where applicants can conduct transactions with the New York State Board of Law Examiners (Board), including, but not limited to:

    • o Applying to sit for the bar examination in New York

    • Applying to transfer a UBE score to New York

    • Registering for and viewing the New York Law Course

    • Registering for and sitting for the New York Law Exam

    • Requesting an advanced review of your foreign legal credentials

  • In order to access the Applicant Services Portal, an applicant must create an account (BOLE account).

  • New Applicants: Click here to CREATE BOLE ACCOUNT .

    • Upon creation of your BOLE account, an auto-generated email will be sent to the email account that you provided when you created the account. The confirmation email will include your unique BOLE Identification Number (BOLE ID) and a temporary password. Save the BOLE ID and password in a safe and accessible location as you will be required to use the BOLE ID in all future communication with the Board. The email will also include instructions for changing your temporary password the next time that you log into your BOLE account.

  • Existing Accounts: If you submitted either an electronic application to sit for the New York bar examination or an Online Request for Foreign Evaluation after 2008, you already have a BOLE Account. Click on LOGIN and enter the email address and password that you used when you created your account. If you do not remember your password click on Reset Password and you will be prompted to reset your password. If you do not remember the email address that you used when you created the account you must make a written request to update your email address by fax (518) 452-5729, or by mail. Do not create a new account. All communications from the Board will be sent only by email and only to the email address you provided in your BOLE account. It is your responsibility to keep your email address up to date in your BOLE Account.
